Greater Harrisburg Area NAACP’s New President

Reverend Dr. Franklin E. Hairston-Allen

Reverend Dr. Franklin E. Hairston-Allen serves as pastor of First Zion Baptist Church in Edgemont, Harrisburg, Pa for the past 10 years.  He was installed as President of the Greater Harrisburg Area NAACP during January 2017.  Previously, he served as President of the Ralph Bunch NAACP Branch in Benton, Arkansas.

Franklin has received his doctorate and seminary degrees.  He is also a veteran and holds two honorable discharges.  Franklin served as director of Camp Central of the Central Baptist Association for five years.  Currently, he serves as facilitator of the laymen teaching men to grow in the knowledge of the word.

As President, Franklin has committed his focus on carrying out the mission of civil rights advocacy for the citizens of the greater Harrisburg Area.

He is married to Alicia Allen and they have 4 children.
