What It Means To Live A Synergistic Life by Mary Olivera

I am humbled to be considered a woman who lives a synergistic life and appreciative of having the opportunity to share what that means to me. I don’t know that I have ever given it much thought. It is who I am. It is what I do. To me, living a synergistic life means that you choose your flow.

Synergy is defined as the combined power of multiple parts which, when they cooperate or work cohesively together, produce a result that is greater than the individual efforts combined. To me, living synergistically is an organic concept that develops from within. It is an ever-evolving process, not an end state. It is our thoughts, feelings and actions; the multiple parts that make up our whole being working together to create synergy. It is the flow of energy between your body, your heart, your mind and your soul. It is a method of existence. It is an attitude. It is a choice.

Flow is defined as the state of completely focused motivation. It is a single-minded immersion and represents perhaps the ultimate experience in harnessing the emotions in the service of learning and performing.

Choice is defined as the act, opportunity or power of picking or deciding between two or more possibilities. Our choices are guided by our thoughts and feelings and they influence our actions. Therefore, we must choose with strong purpose and positive intention and act consciously. In doing so, we create the flow of our daily life. The flow of our synergistic life.

I believe that everyone has the capacity to live a synergistic life. They have to make that choice.

“I can do things you cannot. You can do things I cannot. Together we can do great things.”
