Ross Berger is a career educator with 30 years of experience in educational instruction, program design and administration. Mr. Berger currently works with the Harrisburg School District on the implementation of a career education model that includes career exploration in grades K-8 and a restructure of the high school educational delivery around career-based academies. The ROAR College and Career Academy Program will give students an opportunity to explore various career pathways and plan for post-high-school education and training.
Mr. Berger’s previous experience is as an instructor at Central Penn College and an administrator at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. Mr. Berger’s professional experience has focused on career education as a means of successful entry to the workforce. His expertise includes such topics as career and technical education, alignment of curriculum to workforce needs, curriculum articulation between training programs and credit-based instruction, dual enrollment for high school students, and work-based learning experiences for students such as job shadowing, internships, and co-operative education. In addition, Mr. Berger has served on numerous local advisory committees with local career and technology centers and the Pennsylvania Department of Education, as well as on the Advisory Council and the Board of Directors for the Capitol Region Partnership for Career Development. Mr. Berger holds a master’s degree of Education in Adult Learning from Temple University and a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English from Millersville University.
